You have to have career planning information in place because you just never know what’s going to happen. The most common and obvious sign is a layoff. However if you take a good look there are many signals that tell you that you have been doing something for too long or been at one place longer than you should have. It’s time to take a look and be pro active. It’s okay to plan for the future even if the plan includes a career change. You may not realise it now but at some point you may need to dig down deep to find the happiness that once existed and that may involve a career change. Instead of always being bitter just remember that as long as you have the commitment you can keep a life of happiness without too much interruption.
